This research is the result of a literature review and of interviews with experts, including
international experts on Darfur, the South-western region of the Republic of Sudan. It focuses on the legal provisions and practices on the ground of the recruitment of underaged children in military service of armed forces in Sudan. This report focuses on the period 2013 – 2015 when a ‘silent war’ which has received little international attention begun. The situation in Darfur became extremely tense and it became increasingly dangerous for civilians. When the Operation Decisive Summer began, it brought not only victory of government forces over militia rebel groups, but it also brought displacement and increased violence against children.
