In the first in a wave of protests around the world, Eritreans in the Hague gathered at the weekend to protest against Israel’s plans to deport or incarcerate 38,000 African asylum seekers.
The Belgian protests came as Israeli rabbis and nearly 500 university professors came out against the deportations, promising sanctuary for the Eritreans and Sudanese.
The Hague demonstration was just the first of a world-wide series of protests, which will take place across Europe and the US.
